World Order *second thread*
Okay, Ill just summarize everything we discussed about the new theme so people dont have to flip back and forth.
World Order is an RTS, with up to 6 players in a multiplayer match. There are two races, the Damned(zombies/demons) and the Resistance(humans). Each has its own unique units and buildings (which we need to design). The two resources are oil/blood, which is gotten from a geyser and energy/souls, which is gotten from generators(humans) or from the amount of the Damneds "spawn" (similar to creep) the player has. These might change a bit or a lot as we design the game. Also, we need to decide exactly how far into the future this is taking place. Id say maybe 2050 since We dont want it to be into the space age of the future, but far enough so we can invent new and crazy stuff. Heres some Damned units Ive come up with. We can throw em in the mix of choices for when were ready to flesh out the races.
Gut Worm- Type: Aerial Latches onto units and eats them, which will render smaller humans incapable of attacking, but not larger ones. Pretty standard flying unit, I would assume. <img src="http://www.biofoxgames.com/screenshots/gutworm.JPG" alt="http://www.biofoxgames.com/screenshots/gutworm.JPG" style="border:0" /> Fallen- Type: Hovering A deadly spirit brought back from the beyond. Its invisible to humans (besides those that will have special sensors) and has a couple of abilities. First off, I can attack using its claws. Then you can research Life Leeching (crappy name, I know.) which when used sucks hp out of all surrounding units. Im sure Ive shown *everybody* these designs, but theyre here for posterities sake.

Some questions/ideas:
Is the shockers special ability like that electric ability that the high templar in starcraft have? So, is the leecher like a torpedo through ground? and when it hits an enemy unit it explodes causing splash damage? |

Im going with 1 pm. Which means here at one, not thinking of leaving at one, getting ready at 1:30, and coming here at 2. We basically want to finish all the ig2 sounds and wo designs.

Just thought I would make a list of all we have to get done:
IG2- Voice Dialog Enemy chants All sound effects WO- Finalize race names Finalize game name (I think well stick with "World Order") Finish units/names Finish buildings/names Finish resources Choose special race abilities (such as the Damneds spawn) As for the timeline of how to go about making WO: 1-Supremacy Engine 2-Create resistance media 3-Working single player for resistance 4-Create damned media 5-Working single player for damned 6-Multiplayer 7-Balancing 8-AI 9-More balancing 10-Menus 11-Multiplayer testing 12-Singleplayer testing Obviously, the engine will be evolving through the rest of the steps. |
