Yea, I think that's sounds good. Also, you can obviously see the scores when you hold TAB, but that's not really the GUI per say.
I'll call it Kevlar to be cool.
I tested multiplayer again today and I really improved a lot of things by changing one thing. When joining the lobby, players receive their own ID number and the game uses this number to assign all kinds of variables and stuff to each player. The old version had the individuals getting their numbers through a multisync command, but now I have the server computer assigning them. Everyone now gets the right numbers, can begin the game in a map, and can see each other. Well, the server can see everyone, but players two and three can only see the server. That aside, the game runs great and this is a minor bug I can fix. Once I do, I will be adding two more players to the game.
@Tarkus,
As soon as you can I want you to begin working on maps. Since I have all the designs, and they're rather messy, I will redraw them on the computer and send them via email. The easiest ones you should do are Dumbbell, Arena, and Prisoner. Also, could you ask your dad about lending me a computer to use for testing, it's getting more annoying to ask my sister for help.
Yes, I'm going to buy 3DWS this vacation and spend plenty of time working on maps. It sounds like the multiplayer is improving a lot!
I'll see what I can do about getting you a computer...do you need a certain amount of hdd space?
Alright, I'll try to get the map designs to you by monday. As for hdd space, no more than a few gigabytes because right now Revenge 2 is only 88 megabytes.
I can give you the machine. It should have a couple GBs free after I clean it up. You'll have to find some way to have an extra monitor, because I can't supply that.
Of course, it is still my machine, and I'm only lending it to you for development. But it's probably better at your house anyways, cause that's where we do LAN parties.
Speaking of LAN parties, do you think we could have one over vacation?
Awesome, I can come pick it up tomorrow. I think we could have a LAN party, but people might be away (Evan for example). I finished my gun model and will put up a pic later today. Also, I've added kevlar and health regeneration, but still need to do some multiplayer testing tonight.
@Dajon, You didn't put up the news post (see email)
Here are a screen shots from inside Blender:
Let me know what you think!
Cool! It's definitely better than IG2.
I don't know, it just needs to be a bit more curvy and detailed. I mean, the holder shouldn't be at an exact right angle to the gun. Right now, it just looks like two rectangles and a trigger. It needs more curves and crevices.
For example, put in some crevices where you put those black lines on the texture near the muzzle of the gun.
Plus, we should make a better texture...but you've got the right idea going.
Call me tomorrow so we can find a time to transfer the computer, right now I'm bringing it upstairs to hook it up to my monitor and clean it up a bit. I'll have my cell on. Early in the afternoon would be good.
Yea, I want to smooth out the corners of the barrel and the handle. I think the texture isn't bad, but I need to add onto the handle more. Of course, I could always ask Jrock to make a better one.
Here are the gun names I came up with. The only ones I'm not happy with are the double barrel and the Sniper:
Semi-Automatic Tactic Z .45 (handgun)
Autoloader Shotgun "Old Faithful"
Winchester 22 (double-barrel shotgun)
MP70 (SMG)
Gibbmaster II 30 mm (chaingun)
Powerhouse Chainsaw
Enfield No. 5 (sniper)
I improved the handgun model by adding some angles to the corners of the barrel and handle. Also, I split the end of the barrel into two parts. I think this is pretty much the finished model and will begin working on the shotgun!
